Adding Accounts

Manual Accounts

Create an account by specifying:
  • Name
  • Account type
  • Starting balance

Linked Accounts

Connect your bank to automatically create accounts from your bank. Linked accounts sync balances and transactions automatically.

Balance Tracking

Each account tracks three balance types:
  • Current Balance - total balance including all transactions
  • Cleared Balance - only cleared and reconciled transactions
  • Pending Balance - only pending transactions
Current Balance = Cleared Balance + Pending Balance

Reconciliation

Reconcile your accounts against bank statements to ensure accuracy. When you reconcile:
  1. Compare your Kualia cleared balance to your bank statement
  2. Mark matching transactions as reconciled
  3. Create a balance adjustment if there’s a discrepancy

Account Organization

Customize how accounts appear in your sidebar by reordering them within their groups.

Closing Accounts

When you close a bank account or pay off a loan, you can mark the account as closed. Closed accounts:
  • No longer appear in your active accounts list
  • Retain all historical transaction data
  • Can be reopened if needed
