Virtual envelope budgeting encourages thoughtful reflection, much like using a physical cash envelope in real life. To simplify and add a touch of fun, we’ve introduced a Swipe-To-Reflect method.

Envelope budgeting with Kualia mirrors the hands-on nature of traditional envelope budgeting with cash, making it a daily habit. That’s why we’ve designed Transaction Reflection to be both intuitive and enjoyable. Whenever you add a Manual or Linked Transaction in Kualia, you’ll assign it to a Category, determining which budget it draws from.

For example, if I have $400 in my groceries budget and spend $250 at the store, that transaction can automatically appear for me to review. I’ll then assign it to the Groceries category, which deducts the amount from my envelope, leaving me with $150 remaining for the month.

Manually added transactions don’t require reflection since a category is assigned during their creation.
