# Importing Data

> Bring your existing budget data into Kualia

## Overview

Switching to Kualia? You can import your existing budget data to get started quickly.

## YNAB Import

Kualia supports importing data from **You Need A Budget (YNAB)**. This lets you bring over your:

* Categories and category groups
* Transactions
* Account balances

### Import Status

The import process goes through several stages:

1. **Pending** - import requested
2. **Parsing** - reading and validating your data
3. **Importing** - creating records in Kualia
4. **Completed** - all done

If something goes wrong, the status will show **Failed** with an error message.
