# Connecting Your Bank

> Step-by-step guide to linking your bank accounts

## Overview

This guide walks you through connecting your bank accounts to Kualia using Plaid. For details on how syncing, auto-categorization, and connection health work, see [Bank Connections](/features/bank-connections).

## Before You Start

* Make sure you have your bank login credentials ready
* Kualia supports banks in the **United States** and **Canada**
* Your bank credentials are entered directly into Plaid's secure window - Kualia never sees them

## Where to Start a Connection

You can start a bank connection from a few different places, depending on which app you're using.

### On iOS

* **Accounts tab** — tap to add a new account and choose **Connect bank**.
* **Side drawer** — open the side panel and select **Institutions** to add a new connection or manage existing ones.

### On Web

* **Accounts tab** — create a new account and choose to link a bank or create a manual account.
* **Settings** — open settings and select **Bank connections** in the side panel to add or manage connections.
